Celebrating 15 is not meant to imply a Birthday or Anniversary, but rather the 15th child that has transitioned into a mainstream soccer club.
Kayden started with the Soccajoeys Foundation Next Step Program in February 2015. The program gave Kayden the opportunity to flourish and gave his parents the chance to begin considering a transition to more mainstream activities.
Kayden’s dad told us that ‘the Next Step structure, skill based development, support, and encouragement gave Kayden the confidence to continue progressing.’
Over 200 children have participated in Next Step since 2011, and for a small organisation with a shoestring budget, it’s quite a remarkable achievement.
Our mission is simple, and our goals are adjusted to the needs of each child. It’s about taking the time to teach the skill, to create the right environment, and to build relationships.
We believe that thousands of kids have the potential to play in their local grassroots sporting club in an inclusive manner. Our model continues to demonstrate that this is possible, and while children such as Kayden can enjoy the experience of Saturday morning sport we will continue to invest our time and energy is helping more families gain access to these opportunities.
